Dear Friends of Pine Island Camp,
Our camp roster is filling up, and now we’re looking for exceptional individuals interested in working with our campers — teaching activities, leading trips, and ensuring their care and well-being. If you or someone you know is seeking a meaningful summer filled with growth, adventure, and connection, we’d love to hear from you.
Here are just a few of the benefits of working at camp:
- Make an Impact: Help boys discover independence, build self-confidence, and create memories that will shape their lives.
- Hone Your Soft Skills: Engage in two weeks of comprehensive training in child development, conflict management, high-pressure decision-making, delegation, motivation, and professional collaboration. Receive daily coaching throughout the summer that builds on these skills.
- Boost Your Resume: Employers value the flexibility, leadership, and problem-solving skills cultivated at camp. At the end of the summer, you’ll receive a formal evaluation letter and a personal recommendation from the director to add to your professional portfolio.
- Earn National Certifications: We offer Wilderness First Responder, ACA Level II Canoeing, and Lifeguard training. These valuable certifications will serve you well beyond camp.
- Live Simply, Outdoors: Spend your summer immersed in the natural beauty of Pine Island, far from screens and closer to what truly matters.
- Build Lifelong Connections: Form friendships that last a lifetime, becoming part of a unique and supportive community.
- Have Fun: From campfire performances to trips, every day is an opportunity for adventure, good humor, and shared experiences.
We’re looking for people who are empathetic, resourceful, and eager to make a difference. We provide training and support throughout the summer to ensure you succeed.
