Dear Pine Islanders,

As many of you know, Sarah and I identified the need for another year-round role on the Pine Island team, and in February we announced our search for the next Associate Director of PIC. After receiving multiple applications and conducting several interviews, we are thrilled to share that Hannah Gordon has accepted the role of Associate Director at Pine Island Camp!

In her role, Hannah will work to support Sarah and I as the three of us build the PIC summer experience every year.

A familiar presence at camp since 2021, Hannah brings a wide range of experience and a deep commitment to our mission. Over the past four summers, she has served—and filled in for—numerous roles: Caregiver, LTIP Wrangler, Fall Crew Member, Driver, Medic, Skipper, KC, and OD. In each of these, she has earned the trust of the entire camp community and demonstrated her adaptability, reliability, and passion for Pine Island.

Hannah’s dedication to the values of independence, character development, and community building shines through in everything she does. From her enthusiastic participation in cherished camp traditions like Club Honk and the King’s Game to her meaningful contributions during volunteer weekends and off-season projects, Hannah consistently shows up with generosity, good humor, and a deep understanding of what makes Pine Island so special.

Special thanks to our Board of Directors for their support in this process, and to our interview team for making sure that our evaluation of the candidates was fair and consistent.

Please join us in welcoming Hannah into this new role!

Thank you,
