We said goodbye to our campers and their parents on Sunday. This was their last look at the island as they headed back to “the real world” (as described by the Pine Island News Team in a memorable skit during the last campfire). As one boy said about leaving Pine Island, “My head is shoved with emotions.” We understand!
We’ll post all of the photos from the summer on Smugmug in the coming weeks, and we’ll announce when those are up.
We had spectacular weather for the War Game, and once again Pine Island won. The final score: Blue 206. Gray 167. Some alumni in attendance posted hourly updates on the Pine Island Alumni Facebook group. If you’re an alum and you haven’t joined that group yet, please join us!
You can learn a bit about our summer by reading stories written by campers in the Mid-Summer Pine Needle.
Up next is the Sloan Critchfield Memorial Boat Maintenance Weekend, September 18-20. This is a volunteer event open to all alumni, parents, campers and friends. If you can join us for all or part of the weekend, please email Sarah at firstname.lastname@example.org.
